King Philip’s War: A Slide Presentation by Author Michael J. Tougias

May 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

2025 is the 350th anniversary of King Philip’s War – a conflict between many of the local Native American tribes and English colonists that lasted from 1675-1676. It was fought primarily in Massachusetts, and had the highest per capita casualties of any other war that America has ever been involved in. Michael J. Tougias, co-author with Eric B. Schultz of King Philip’s War: The History and Legacy of America’s Forgotten Conflict, has lectured extensively on this little-known war, and his slides will take the viewer from the start of the war to the end and include several spots people may want to visit to understand this part of our history.

This talk is co-sponsored by the Brighton-Allston Historical Society and the Friends of the Faneuil Library.
